Park

Muscovites have long considered Tsaritsyno to be one of the best spots to enjoy a countryside walk thanks to its ancient landscape park. There’s a network of roads, paths and historical avenues, some of which were laid out in the middle of the 18th century. These are the remnants of the previous estate owned by Moldovan princes Cantemirs. Tsaritsyno landscape park began to take shape back in 1775. When Vasily Bazhenov started the construction, he also took care of the park by inviting English gardeners.

The archaeological monuments of the park include a Pyramid Hill built by the Cantemirs and the burial mounds of the Slavic Vyatichi tribe dating back from 11th-12th centuries.
