A premiere of park ceramics on August 31 at the Festival of Historical Gardens
Aug. 25, 2019
On the opening day of “Shadow of a Woman” exhibition, two important ceramic events will be held at the II Festival of Historical Gardens.
The first is the premiere of park ceramics, a rare trend of ceramic art in modern Russia. Exclusively for Tsaritsyno artists will create objects designed for outdoor exhibits.
“The planting of parks with art is a global trend,” explains Tatyana Punans, curator of the exhibition, “and ceramics is the best suited for this purpose. Unlike wood, metal and even plastic, it does not suffer so much from bad weather. In the USSR, park ceramics were very popular, and now everything is slowly returning, which confirms our experiment.”
Objects created for the museum can be seen on the site of the Festival of Historical Gardens, and on the same day they will be moved to places that artists will choose in the park for their work – for permanent residence.
The second event is a meeting with the authors. Ceramic artists will communicate with everyone who comes to the Festival of Historical Gardens that day, show their works, talk about them and about the technique in which they were made, comfortably located in the very center of the festival, right in the meadow.
The premiere of park ceramics and a meeting with the authors will begin at 14:00.
On the same day, at 17:00, the vernissage of “Shadow of a Woman” exhibition will begin in the Small Palace.
Entrance to the Festival of Historic Gardens and the opening day of the Shadow of a Woman exhibition is free.
