From Kamchatka to the Kaliningrad Region: Sokolniki will show exhibits from private museums

On September 7 and 8, a large-scale exhibition will be held in Sokolniki Park, which will present exhibits from 100 private museum collections. They will be brought from all over Russia – from Kamchatka to the Kaliningrad region.

The exhibition will run from 11:00 to 18:00 in the congress and exhibition center of the park in Pavilion 4.1. Entrance for all comers is free.

Visitors will be able to explore old and unusual household items, dishes, castles, irons of the 18th-19th centuries and much more. In total, two thousand exhibits will be presented. Their collections will be shown by the Museum of Carpentry Tools from Pushkin city, the Blacksmith Museum Iron Kingdom from the Krasnogorsk District of Moscow Region, the Karelian Isthmus Military Museum from Vyborg, the Ilya Muromets Theater Museum from Murom, the Folk Museum of Russian Superstitions from the Kaliningrad Region, “Goat Museum” from Tver. Also, guests of the park will see the earliest details of the Lego designer, released in the 1940s. They were brought from the Moscow Megabricks Museum, which is dedicated to this designer.

Among the exhibits, one can find Moscow streetlights of the 30s of the 19th century from the Moscow Museum of Lights. In the century before last, lanterns worked on kerosene, and not on electricity, as now, and were located mainly on the central streets. The Cheese Museum from the Kostroma Region will present items for the manufacture of the legendary product. Fans of military history will see medieval weapons. These are spear and arrowheads, swords and chain mail, brought from different cities of Russia.

September 7 and 8 will celebrate City Day – Moscow will be 872 years old. Celebrating the birthday of the capital will coincide with the completion of the festival of landscape design “Flower jam”. The main celebrations are scheduled for the first Saturday of autumn, public festivities will continue on Sunday.

Muscovites are waiting for master classes, sports and intellectual competitions, street performances, concerts and, of course, fireworks. The main street of the holiday will be Tverskaya, and its main theme is the 80th anniversary of VDNH. The townspeople themselves chose an entertainment program.
